The foundation of Picacho Hills Country Club is the 6880 yard, par 72 golf course that winds its way through the breaks of the land between Picacho Mountain and the Rio Grande, designed by architect Joe Finger with consultation by Mr. Byron Nelson. The course has been ranked as high as the number one private golf course in New Mexico by Golf Digest, and has hosted PGA Tour Qualifying, State and U.S. Open Qualifiers, and the Southwestern Women's Golf Championship.
In addition to these events, there is an active Men's Golf Association and both a Ladies 18-Hole Association and a 9-Hole Golf Association that conduct club events.
